Cluemoo

Storyworth vs. Cluemoo

Storyworth emails a grandparent one writing prompt a week and prints the answers as a keepsake book. Cluemoo turns family stories into a mystery the grandparent and grandchild solve together every week or every other week ($99 a year, or $35 for 3 months). Choose Storyworth for a written memoir; choose Cluemoo if you want the grandkids involved every week.

What does each one do?

Storyworth is a memoir service: the grandparent answers a writing prompt each week, and at the end of the year the stories are printed as a hardcover book. Cluemoo is a game: the grandparent's stories become a mystery, and the grandparent and grandkids each hold half the clues, so they solve it together on a call.

Who is each one for?

Choose Storyworth if the goal is a written record of a grandparent's life that the family keeps on a shelf. Choose Cluemoo if the goal is a closer relationship between a grandparent and young grandkids who live far apart, with something to do together every week or every other week. Many families would enjoy both.

Do the grandkids take part?

In a memoir service, the grandparent does the writing and the grandkids read the book later. In Cluemoo, the grandkids are players from age 4: little ones get picture puzzles and read-aloud clues, and teens get harder codes.
